This is a plastic 1/72 B-17G Flying Fortress from Academy Plastics.
It's for experienced modelers.
The G-series was the last version of the venerable Flying Fortress. It
featured a new chin turret under the bomb aimer's position and improved fuel
tank venting, which increased the aircraft's survival chances in combat.
FEATURES: Detailed 1/72nd scale for static display only.
Markings included for one aircraft with staggered waist gun
positions.
Appx. 140 parts in light grey and clear with delicate recessed panel
lines - not including all the unneeded extra parts from the early
B-17 kits.
Detailed engine fronts and cowlings; correct nose and chin turret.
Cockpit detail: floor, instrument panel with decal, seats, and
controls.
Detailed bomb bay with bomb racks, bombs, and positionable bomb
doors.
Late production style tail gun position.
Service History: USAAF; 1941-45.

panel, aircraft ID number and code letters, nose art, and

Kit markings are for B-17G A/C #337907 "Carolina Moon"- 851st Bomb
Squadron 490th Bomb Group.
Aircraft was overall natural aluminum with red identification bands.
