This is a plastic 1/72 B-17C/D Flying Fortress Airplane from Academy
Plastics. It's for experienced modelers.
The B-17C and D were the last two early versions of the Flying Fortress,
and less than 100 total were built. The aircraft were identified by their
tapered and lack of armament compared to later versions.
FEATURES: Detailed 1/72nd scale for static display only.
Markings included for two aircraft.
Appx. 140 parts in light grey and clear with delicate recessed panel
lines.
Ventral (belly) gun pod with clear windows.
Detailed engine fronts and optional of cowlings for B-17C and D.
Cockpit detail: floor, instument panel with decal, seats, and
controls.
Detailed bomb bay with bomb racks, bombs and positionable bomb doors.
Instruction manual is illustrated with photographs and cutaways of
actual aircraft.
Service History: USAAF; 1940-41.

MARKING
OPTIONS: Single sheet of decals which contains national insignia, instrument
panel, aircraft ID numbers and code letters, nose art, and wing
walk bands:
1: B-17C s/n 40-2045 flown by Capt. Colin P Kelly on Dec 10, 1941.
2: B-17D ID #388R, 436th BG at March Field, 1941.
Both aircraft: Overall natural aluminum with red and white
bands.
