This is a plastic 1/48 P-47N Thunderbolt Airplane from Academy Plastics.
It's for experienced modelers.
The Republic P-47N was the last version of the the famous "Jug". It was
designed specifically for the Pacific Theater and had extended wings to carry
the fuel required for long distance escort missions over Japan.
FEATURES: Detailed 1/48th scale for static display only.
Markings included for one aircraft.
120 parts in light grey and clear with delicate recessed panel lines.
Accurately reproduced 4-bladed propeller and spinner assembly.
Detailed gun bays with optional covers and optional position radiator
louvers.
Cockpit detail: control linkages, instrument panel with raised
detail, seat, armour plate, side panels, and control stick.
Ordnance includes: 4.5" rocket launcher, 5" HVAR rockets, 500lb &
1000lb bombs, and 75, 150, & 108 gal fuel tanks.
USAAF and Air Guard from late-WWII onwards to early 50's.
Description: Single engine, 8 .50cal machine gun, long range fighter.
MARKING
OPTIONS: Single sheet of decals which contains national insignia, code
numbers, nose art, serial numbers, propellor markings and stencils.
Kit markings are for P-47N s/n 488391 "GERRY", 456th FS 414th FG,
Iwo Jima. Aircraft is overall natural aluminum with a black anti-
glare panel on the top of the . The kit box art depicts
this aircraft with a yellow nose ring and yellow tail surfaces but
these areas should be light blue.
