         This is a 1/48 P-38J Lightning Plastic Airplane Model Kit.
    Skill Level 2 for ages 10 to Adult, Intermediate to Advanced Modelers.

Prototype Information:
  The Lockheed Lightning was one of the unique fighter aircraft of WWII
  featuring a twin engine, twin boom, design.  The aircraft served in all
  major theatres of the war and proved deadly to its adversaries in the hands
  of a skilled pilot.  The highest scoring US ace, Major Richard Bong scored 40
  victories over Japanese aircraft in various types of P-38.

FEATURES: 1/48th scale for static display
          118 parts in silver, black, and clear with raised panel lines and
            rivets
          Optional parts to build one of 3 variants: standard P-38J fighter,
            P-38J "Droop Snoot" pathfinder, and P-38M two seat nightfighter
          Cockpit detail: control wheel, instrument panel, seat, opening canopy
          Detailed nose gun bay for fighter and nightfighter variants

          Basic tools: Hobby knife, paint brushes, sandpaper.

            airbrush and associated accessories
          Adhesives:
            Major components - liquid plastic cement (Testors, TENAX 7R)
            Clear parts - White glue, odourless CA, or TENAX 7R
            Detail parts - CA or tube-type (thick) plastic cement.
