    This is a 1:72 Plastic German Army Armored Halftrack with Anti Tank Gun
                 Sd.Kfz 251/22 Ausf. D "Pakwagen" by Hasegawa.
   For collectors ages 13 and older, though recommended for adult collectors.

     Realizing that mechanization and high mobility were going to be key
factors towards battlefield success in any future wartime scenarios, the German
General Staff set out on a modernization program to reorganize the main thrust
of the Wehrmacht's might around its tank corps. While initial efforts in this
direction resulted in the concurrent development of a halftrack vehicle
for infantry and artillery use along with the development of the earlier marks
of Panzers (tanks), it was soon realized that the armor protection provided by
this vehicle was not suitable for the battlefield requirements of the new
motorized infantry or "Panzergrenadier" tactics then under development by the
Wehrmacht. In the spring of 1939, the first fully armored halftrack to meet
these requirements was developed and ordered into production under the
nomenclature Sd.Kfz 251. The Sd.Kfz 251/22 went into production starting in
December 1944. In this design, everything was removed from the passenger/cargo
cabin (except the left rear bench) to make room for the mounting of a 7.5cm Pak
40 anti-tank gun (without gun chassis).

FEATURES: 97 total gray plastic pieces molded to sprue trees.
          This tank has more of a truck-shaped appearance.
          Two steer tires.
          Pak40 barrel anti-tank gun rests on center top of tank.
          Each road wheel consists of one drive sprocket, and ten wheels.
          Two tracks are included for road wheels.
          This tank has one crew member and three gunners.
          Detailed instrument board.
          On board is a gun shell box, rifle rack, fire extinguisher, and
            rear seat,
          MG42 machine gun on rear of tank.
          Mounted on the front are lights, a pickaxe, hatchet, and fender
            poles.
          Two tow hooks mounted at the front of the tank.
          Recessed panel lines give authentic look.
          Detailed suspension.
          Waterslide decals which include various small numbers and symbols.
          Detailed pictorial instructions with specs for actual tank.

COMMENTS: CAUTION: Due to choking hazards, keep small parts away from children
            ages 3 and under.
          Cockpit is painted for detail.
          Camouflage patterns of Khaki Green and/or Red Brown rest on a
            Dark Yellow base color.  Slightly grey-tinged "winter white" is
            used as the base color in winter weather.
          Mr. Color or Gunze Sangyo Aqueous Hobby Color paint is recommended
            for this kit.
