NOTES FROM OUR TECH DEPARTMENT

        This 1/72 War Bird Collection Plastic Model Kit is of the Vought
                           F4U-1D Corsair Airplane.
               This Tamiya Kit is for Modelers Age 10 and Older.

In 1944, the F4U-1D was formally deployed as the first carrier based aircraft of Corsair series. Beginning by placing the F4U-1D as Marine squadrons VMF-124 and VMF-213 aboard the ESSEX on the way to the Philippines, the F4U-1D was used for attacking Japan as the first operation from U.S. Navy in 1945. The aircraft was later an established position from U.S. Navy because of its ability and reliance.

FEATURES: This plane is constructed with gray plastic pieces which are molded to sprue trees. Ready to assemble precision model kit. Realistic gauges and flight control equipment fill the cockpit. Landing gear is in great detail. This plane comes with two large drop tanks. Various underwing armament included: rockets, bombs. Powered by one 3-blade propeller engine. The engines is internally detailed. Two types of canopy included: framed and frameless clear plastic. Inverted gull wings. Detailed pictorial assembly instructions.

MARKING OPTIONS: One Waterslide Decal Sheet with Markings for Three Aircrafts: -United States' Nationality Symbol. 1: 167, Long White Arrow. 2: Small White Arrow. 3: 530, White Checker Pattern. Airframe Color (TAMIYA): -Glossy Sea Blue. Detail Color (TAMIYA): -Navy Blue, Royal Blue, Blue, Green, Orange, Red, Gun Metal, Chrome Silver, Semi Gloss Black, Flat Black, Flat Yellow, Flat Green, Flat Aluminum, Sky Grey, Olive Green.

INCLUDES: One 1/72 Plastic Vought F4U-1D Corsair Airplane

REQUIRES: Assembly Cement Paint (see MARKING OPTIONS) Paint Brushes Hobby Knife Pin Vise Sandpaper or File Tweezers Cloth Adult Supervision

COMMENTS: Keep small parts away from children age 3 and under. Fighters of U.S. Navy and Marine corps were painted in glossy sea blue from March 1944. Most of F4U-1D had the same paint scheme. kr10/16/00 ir/jl
