The first coat of paint is orange in appearance. Several coats of
paint are needed to achieve the Missile Red color.

LUSTREKOTE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANY OTHER PAINT!
In order for a true match to MonoKote, LustreKote primer
must be used as a base under the LustreKote paint (except when
used on MonoKote).
LustreKote MAY be used on butyrate, but ONLY in VERY thin layers.
Applying LustreKote too heavily will cause the butyrate
(canopies, etc.) to deform. Also, the combination of masking
liquid (like Hobbico Master Mask) and LustreKote (ANY amount)
will damage butyrate! For best results, mask off butyrate with
The matching MonoKote covering is TOPQ0201
When applying over MonoKote, lightly sand off shine with a 320-400
grit sandpaper, clean surface with alcohol and allow to dry.
Apply in thin coats.
*Stock # TOPR7500 and up are the new formulas of LustreKote paint.
Although there is some small differences in color between the new
and old formulas, they are compatible at application. Meaning
one could paint over old LustreKote with new Lustrekote paint.
