This is a 1/20 Scale 2000 Ferrari Formula One Car (French Grand Prix
Version) Plastic Model Kit by Tamiya.
When Ferrari set their sights on bringing out a machine that could earn
both the Constructors' and Drivers' Championships for 2000, their new F1-2000
inherited many characteristics of the 1999 car such as the high nose, side
diffusers, and exhaust port. Ferrari also brought out a new V-10 engine called
the 3000 Ferrari (Type 049). Piloting the F1-2000's were Michael Schumacher
and Rubens Barrichello. Schumacher took five races, but after being forced to
retire several times, McLaren driver Mika Hakkinen took over the points lead.
Regaining the points standing in the Japanese Grand Prix, Schumacher went on
to win the Drivers' Championship with a total of nine wins. This, combined
with Barrichello's one victory, earned Ferrari the 2000 Constructors' Trophy
as well.
