Carburetor Settings;
Needle and idle setting are factory set on the rich side. Adjustments
should only be made in small increments.
High Speed Needle: Adjust with throttle at medium/high RPM, turn
clockwise to lean mixture or counter-clockwise to richen mixture
Make small adjustments in one hour increments. The goal is to
achieve the highest straight line speed while maintaining a
a visible trail of exhaust smoke.
Low Speed Needle: At low RPM, turn clockwise to lean and counter-
clockwise to richen. Vehicle must accelerate smoothly without
excessive smoke (too rich) or speeding up and cutting out (too
lean).
Idle Adjustment Screw: Set so that engine runs fast enough to
maintain idle speed without dying. Increase idle speed by turning
clockwise and reduce by turning counter-clockwise.
